Description
The little brown bat is a species of mouse-eared microbat found in North America. White-nose syndrome has been a significant cause of mortality since 2006, killing over one million little brown bats by 2011. White-nose syndrome has not yet been detected in Colorado, but is now present in adjacent states. Rocky Mountain Wild’s Colorado Bat Watch citizen science project will engage citizen scientists to collect data to enable Colorado agencies to monitor little brown bats and other bat species over time and better understand the impacts of white-nose syndrome and other threats on local bat populations.
